Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program (CGHAP)

Free Home Energy Retrofits for Low-to-Median-Income Households
The Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program (CGHAP) is a federal initiative launching in the first half of 2025 to help low-to-median-income homeowners and tenants improve their home’s energy efficiency at no cost. Through regional partners, CGHAP will fund home upgrades like insulation, heat pumps, and other retrofits to lower monthly energy bills while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Support for Indigenous Communities
CGHAP includes a separate funding stream for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. This ensures funding is delivered with fewer administrative barriers and more flexibility to meet Indigenous housing needs.
Eligibility criteria and application details will be announced by mid-2025 through provincial and territorial energy efficiency programs.
